Ask customer if they have had a drug test within the last 30 days. If yes, ask customer to provide documentation of results. For any Richland County residents needing a drug screen, the client must call the local agency at (608) 647-8821 (press 0 for the operator) and ask to speak to the ESS on-call worker to set up an appointment to do the drug test. Appointments are mandatory. No drug tests will be conducted without an appointment.
Richland County residents can stop in the office between the hours of 8:00 and 4:00 to request a vault card from the ESS On-Call Worker. If preferred, an appointment can be made by calling 608-647-8821 (press 0 for the operator) and asking for the ESS On-Call Worker.

To report a change, customers are directed to use the lobby phone to call CCA, complete paper change form, or use the computers in the lobby to report via Access.
If it’s a new program we give them all application options. If they want to apply while there, client registration is complete and an appointment scheduled. The on-call worker will be available to assist.
Verification is accepted at the front desk during regular business hours. A drop-box is located outside the main front doors for dropping off verification after hours.

Certain individuals whose employment brings them into contact with children are required by law to report any suspected abuse or neglect or threatened abuse or neglect to a child seen in the course of their professional duties.

The Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP) provides assistance, if eligible, for heating costs and electric costs. The Energy Assistance program is operated from October 1st through May 15th of each year. Energy assistance helps with crisis and proactive funds during the entire year. Safe at Home is a statewide address confidentiality program that provides victims of actual or threatened domestic abuse, child abuse, sexual abuse, stalking, and trafficking, or those who simply fear for their physical safety with a legal substitute address to be used for both public and private purposes. Enrollment in Safe at Home allows participants to use and receive mail at an assigned address in lieu of their actual address. Safe at Home then forwards mail from the assigned address to participants’ actual addresses free of charge.
